When picking flooring there are a few things as the home owner you need to think about and keep in mind before you make your final purchase.
1- How long your going to be staying in your home!
Knowing this will help you come up with a budget for how much you want to spend on your product.
2 - What feel or look are you after with your flooring!
With all the types of flooring out there you almost need an interior designer to help pick the flooring you want. Every type of flooring bring a totally different feel to the room it goes into, and the best way to see exactly what the flooring will look like is to ask the supply store to let you bring home a sample and let you see for your self what the flooring will look like before you make the purchase.
3 - Do you want heating under your flooring!
That’s right guys, you can put heating under flooring like hard woods and ceramic so don’t let the fact that the product may be naturally cold as you can warm it up with great ease.
4 - Do you plan on renovating the room you want to put flooring in down the road!
Make sure all renovations are complete like dry wall repairs before investing into new flooring. There is nothing worse then buying a product that lasts for 25 years and you have to replace in 4, because you decided or forgot to do something before the flooring went in.
5 - Is this something you really want to install yourself or do you want to hire a pro?
It is hard to hide a screw up in a flooring installation. So if you are not 100% confident in your abilities then maybe hiring a pro is the best way to go.
