Replacing a water service - part 1
In today’s video I will explain to you a certain situation that I have gone through recently at my home. My water service to my house decided to blow up in my front yard a few weeks back and I decided that it would make a great video series to show you all the steps I had to go through in order to get water restored to my house, as I went a whole week with no water and man was that a long week for all of us here.
One of the first things the contractor I hired and I went through was relocating my water service and meter to a new location in my house. The current location for it was under my basement bathroom vanity which is ceramic tiled and would of been a huge pain to remove. It also would of cost me a lot more money to replace my service to the same location so when the contractor and I discussed my options it was a lot better to move to a new location in order to save me the time and money of destroying a bathroom.
Watch today’s video then continue reading the post below!
The next 4 video’s in this series on “replacing a water service” get very interesting so make sure you stop by over the next week to check them out. What you will see is the whole process I have had to go through including the entire excavation with the crews and there very expensive equipment.

Welcome to b5 and the channel! I’ve been waiting, and waiting all excitedly for this blog to kick off and it seems I missed it when it happened. Hmmm. I can’t wait to read (and see) your posts, so far they look great. Mainly I’m just so happy to have another home building type here in the channel. I’m the Offbeat Homes blogger. I’m pretty obsessed with all things structural, built a house, follow home trends, and want to build again, so I’m sure I’ll be around. Again welcome, it’s really great to have this blog up.
